The one community resource which is very close to Baker Ranch is the County Jail, where we nowRead Morehouse serious felons (although in the past in held less serious inmates and was nicknamed "The Farm"). Not only do they have serious felons at Musick Jail, they plan to add a $100,000,000 new building that will house "maximum security" inmates. FWIW - over the past decade, the Jail has experienced on average one escape per year. Running for your life, the Jail is about 5 minutes from Baker Ranch. I didn't see this in any of their advertisements.

Of the 100 sold, how many went to Chinese investors?

I believe someone at Baker Ranch did not do their homework - They claim "The Saddleback Valley Read MoreUnified School District features more California Distinguished Schools than any other in the state..." I went to the website where this data can be found - http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/sr/cs/ and looked only at Orange County, not the entire state. I found that Placentia had 9 schools listed as "distinguished schools" while SVUSD only had 7. I also found Irvine had 7 as well. So it's untrue that SVUSD "features more California Distinguished Schools than any other in the state..." - we don't even have the most in Orange County, much less the State.

Does anyone find it ironic that WM is voted the "most ethical" company in the world andRead Moreth ey just got fired by a City Council that has been criticized for violating their own code of ethics on numerous occasions?

If CR&R fails to deliver (or in this case, pick up) as they're supposed to, I wonder if thereRead Moreis a 'boot' clause, and WM may come back in. I have no qualms with their service whatsoever.

@Jim - What I find ironic is just how dodgy the Ethisphere "World's Most Ethical" awardsRead Mores eem. WM was one of two "World's Most Ethical" in the Environmental Services category. See here for a Slate piece on Ethisphere: http://www.slate.com/articles/business/moneybox/2010/03/its_all_good.single.html The companies nominate themselves via a 30 page questionnaire on their ethics practices, which is supposed to be "verified" later in the process. Ethisphere started as a project of sister company Corpedia (now NYSE Governance Services), which is in the business of helping companies develop their ethics policies. Knowing this, I find that the nomination questionnaire reads more like a sales tool. Of the 144 "World's Most Ethical Companies" this year (7 in "Retail: General" alone), 28 are among the 48 current members of Ethisphere's "Business Ethics Leadership Alliance", which charges $9,995 a year. Hmmm.
