Families Enjoy Carols, Crafts at Victorian Christmas

More than 1,000 visitors came to Heritage Hill Historical Park in Lake Forest for the annual Victorian Christmas tour.

Fuzzy Santa hats and Christmas sweaters were part of the outfit du jour for many visitors to the 30th annual Victorian Christmas.

On Saturday, halfway through the four-hour holiday celebration, more than 1,200 tickets had been sold.

Children swarmed craft tables set up throughout Heritage Hill Historical Park to hand-dip candles, decorate pinecones and make old-fashioned Christmas cards.

Carolers wandered through the park singing traditional songs, and youth groups performed dances on the park stage.

The park's historic buildings—the Bennet House, St. George's Episcopal Mission, the Serrano Adobe and El Toro Grammar School—were decorated with holiday lights.

The event is the first of two at the park this holiday season. Next weekend is the 26th annual Candlelight Tour on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
