DUI Checkpoint in Lake Forest Tonight

  1. There'll be a DUI and driver's-license checkpoint in Lake Forest Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The Orange County Sheriff's Department doesn't give out exact details of where it has these things.
  2. You probably heard about this already, but just in case: The South Orange County Wastewater Authority board of directors just elected Lake Forest resident M. Scott Goldman to serve as the board's chairman. Goldman sits as the vice president of the El Toro Water District board of directors and is "an environmental engineer and licensed civil engineer by trade," says a press release.
  3. A 1.7-magnitude earthquake happened five miles north of Foothill Ranch yesterday at 4:01 p.m., says the U.S. Geological Survey.
  4. Throw away your electronic garbage at Saddleback Church next Friday or Saturday at Living Green Recycling's free community electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in Saddleback's lower lot.
