Get Out: Halloween Weekend Hotspots

A few events open to the public this weekend in Lake Forest celebrating the Halloween holiday.

From candy to costumes, Halloween weekend is a dream come true for many children.

Take a peek at some of the places you'll be able to catch a glimpse of little ghouls and goblins this weekend:

Where/When: Albertsons, 24251 Muirlands Blvd., Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon

Why Go: People from the  will be passing out 750 free glow sticks and guidelines from the Center of Disease Control listing tips for how parents can keep their children safe on Halloween.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 23302 El Toro Rd., Saturday, noon

Why Go: Activities include crafts and food sales, a bounce house, carnival games, eating competitions, a chili cook-off and baking contests.

Pricing: Bring 10 canned-food items and receive 20 tickets to use for games and the bounce house.

Blocktober

Where/When: , 1 Saddleback Pkwy, Monday, 5 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Games, food, rides and more.

Pricing: Tickets purchased through October 30 are $5 per person (2 years and older) or three tickets for $12. Tickets are $5 per person the day of the event. Adults not participating in games do not need a ticket to attend but are invited to bring a canned food item as a donation to the Saddleback Food Pantry.

Halloween Carnival

Where/When: , 23262 El Toro Rd., Monday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Costumes are encouraged at this event, which will have children's games and food for the whole family.

Pricing: Free; tickets for games and food a nominal cost
