Local Church to Celebrate Black History Month

Reach Community Church in Lake Forest has programs planned for each Saturday in February.

Each Saturday evening in February, Reach Community Church has a program planned in recognition of Black History Month.

  • Feb. 11: A presentation on an unheard speech of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The "Drum Major Instinct" will be presented by Junie Creations. 
  • Feb. 18: Hearing from the Hip-Hop Generation. Students from the Intervarsity Christian Group at Cal State Unviersity Los Angeles will share their worship style through presentations from The Spoken Word Ministry, with Leve Ross V, Shynell Blanson, and Candace Nicholas-Lippman. A local mime group, the World Renowned Apostolic Boys, will also perform.
  • Feb. 25: Connecting with historical black colleges and universities. Members of black fraternities and sororities from local colleges/universities will participate in a panel discussion regarding their purpose and community services.
