Monday Brings 20 Percent Chance of Rain

Lake Forest may get rain showers or thunderstorms before the weather clears for the rest of the week.

While the days leading up to Christmas promise to be mostly sunny, forecasters expect the week to kick off with some rain. There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation in Lake Forest on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists say there's a chance of drizzle before 10 a.m. and a slight chance of showers by 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., the chance of showers remains, with the additional possibility of thunderstorms hitting Lake Forest by 10 p.m.

If the precipitation holds off, the day will be partly sunny but chilly, with a high near 58 degrees.

When Tuesday dawns, it's expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 63 degrees, setting the tone for the days leading up to Christmas.

Each day—including Christmas Day—is expected to be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid to high 60s.
