Rain Moving In Through Saturday

A Pacific storm system is headed for Southern California, bringing showers to Lake Forest.

It will be a rainy weekend in Lake Forest, thanks to a Pacific weather system moving into Southern California.

Forecasters are predicting long periods of light rain Friday and Saturday.

Extended rain showers are likely to cause roadways to become slippery, the weather service warns.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain Friday night in Lake Forest sometime after 10 p.m.

Rain is a given Saturday, with forecasters predicting a 100 chance of precipitation in town, mainly before 4 p.m., accompanied by a light breeze of about 5 mph.

On Saturday, temperatures will peak near 63 degrees.

As night approaches, a 20 percent chance of showers remains before 10 p.m. Temperatures on Saturday night will bottom out around 47 degrees. The night is expected to be party cloudy.

Expect a respite Sunday, which should be partly sunny, with a high near 64 degrees.

Another weather system will pass through Monday, though it is not expected to bring as much rain as its predecessor will Saturday. It will, however, bring along some gusty winds.

In Lake Forest, there's a 30 percent chance of rain Monday. Otherwise, the day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 62 degrees. As the night arrives, a slight chance of showers remains.
