Sunwood Street Faire Under Way

Neighborhood garage sale offers up plenty of treats, bargains, stuff.

It seemed there was something for everybody at the Sunwood Street Faire on Saturday, the first of two days of the neighborhood garage sale.

With more bargains than Walmart, people descended on the neighborhood. Parking was difficult, but finding something of interest wasn't.

It was the 35th annual event, and about 150 residents invited neighbors and strangers to peruse the items they're unloading. There was rock jewelry and rock 'n roll music, dolls, sporting equipment and tools.

Some offered food, as well, such as tamales and egg roles.

Not only did the event attract locals, it also attracted out-of-towners—and some from out of state.

The shopping and people watching continues today.

The neighborhood is to the south and east of El Toro High.

Organizers of the event ask visitors to park outside the neighborhood and avoid blocking driveways. Enter the neighborhood from El Toro Road at Serrano Road or Toledo Way, or take Cherry Avenue to Princeton Way.

Shoppers should be able to find sellers on the following streets: Auburn Dale Drive, Chapel Hill Drive, Dartmouth Circle, Foxborough Way, Heatherow Circle, Marylhurst Court, Revere Road, Rockford Drive, Toledo Way, Westover Circle and Williamsburg Court.
