Past Clients From Lake Forest Gym Get Drafted In The NHL

Chris Phillips, owner of Compete Sports Performance & Rehab in Lake Forest, CA and former athletic trainer for the Anaheim Ducks, was thrilled when he heard two of his past clients were drafted into the National Hockey League this past Sunday. Eric Comrie and Adam Erne will be starting their new professional hockey careers in the NHL.

Eric Comrie, a goaltender, is a native of Newport Beach and was drafted in the second round by the Winnipeg Jets. Adam Erne, a power forward, was also drafted in the second round, but by the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Both athletes have trained with Compete Sports Performance & Rehab; a strength and conditioning company in Lake Forest that trains many youth, collegiate, and professional athletes.

Comrie and Erne are few among many of Compete's clients who are excelling in their athletic endeavors. Since it's founding 4 years ago, Compete has had over 20 youth athletes obtain athletic scholarships for college in a variety of sports, including football, soccer, baseball, and even tumbling. Much of Compete's success can be attributed to the fact it takes an all of the above approach to sports training; providing strength & conditioning, sports rehab, as well as baseline concussion testing in one convenient location. Additionally, Compete's staff is made up of highly experienced athletic trainers and strength coaches who have worked at the professional, collegiate, and high school level.
