Local Business Raises $3,500 For Breast Cancer Nonprofit

The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest held its third annual fundraiser in support of Southern California breast cancer patients.

Local nonprofit Breast Cancer Solutions has added $3,500 to its charity coffers after a recent fundraiser held at The Jewelry Box, a Lake Forest store.

The organization, which supports needy Southern California breast cancer patients, was the beneficiary of a two-hour event Oct. 18 at the Lake Forest Drive store.

Attendees bid on silent auction items and bought raffle tickets for prizes that included a pair of diamond earrings. The jewelry shop donated more than 25 pieces for the auction.

Participants shared refreshments and drinks during the evening event, which raised a total of $3,500 for the charity.

"Holding this event for Breast Cancer Solutions is a way that we can truly affect someone's life that lives in our community," store co-owner Christine Anzell said. "When searching for a breast cancer organization to support, we chose Breast Cancer Solutions because they are a local provider helping people in our community get access to treatment for breast cancer. We started with nothing and now we feel like locals helping locals."
