Home Depot to Go on a Massive Hiring Spree

The home improvement retailer expects to hire 80,000 people for the spring season and has more than 2,000 openings in California right now.

Home Depot announced Wednesday it plans to fill 80,000 positions nationwide as the spring selling season approaches.

"Spring is our peak hiring season, giving us the opportunity to find some of the best associates who are passionate about customer service," said Tim Crow, executive vice president of Human Resources for the home improvement retailer in a press release issued Wednesday.

The website currently lists more than 16,000 jobs nationwide, with 2,081 in California, including in-store, at the distribution centers and even corporate. Job seekers can research openings and apply online at www.careers.homedepot.com.

Home Depot has 2,263 retail stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.

Any truth to the rumor that a Home Depot will be built and opened in North San Clemente where the K-Mart was located and closed in November/December 2013. I hear the Big Lot store will also close to make room for Home Depot. Don't know if it is truth or a rumor.
