Pink Ribbon Bagels in Lake Forest Raise Money for Breast Cancer

Panera Bread is donating all of the proceeds from the bagel sales to fight breast cancer. Since 2001, more than 7 million Pink Ribbon Bagels have been sold nationwide and more than $1 million has been raised for breast cancer charities.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Panera Bread is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from Monday's sales of its Pink Ribbon Bagel in Lake Forest to a variety of breast cancer causes throughout the country.

This is the 10-year anniversary of the Pink Ribbon Bagel, which is made with cherries, cranberries and honey and shaped like the iconic pink ribbon. The Lake Forest location is at 23592 Rockfield Blvd.

For the remainder of the month, Panera will donate a portion of the Pink Ribbon Bagel proceeds to help fight breast cancer.

Panera also encourages people to "like" the "Virtual Pink Ribbon Bagel" on its Facebook page and 10 cents will be donated to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.

The Pink Ribbon Bagel was created when Sue Stees, a Panera Bread franchisee and breast cancer survivor, had the idea to create the bagel to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
