SAVE LAKE FOREST MOVEMENT - came out of nowhere and got signatures from more than 4,000 registered voters to reject the decisions of "the Brookfield Boys" to grant special favors to the developers who helped elect them to office.

HONORABLE MENTION - BOB HOLTZCLAW – Bob attends almost every Council meeting and offers good sound advice (improve our street sweeping, get an electronic voting board so we can see who votes for who) as well as solid criticism when needed.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A CITIZEN

BOB HOLTZCLAW – Calling for the resignation of Kathy McCullough as a result of her disgraceful performance at the Council meeting to fill the vacant Council seat.

HONORABLE MENTION - MERIJOE AXELROD – When speaking about the lack of child facilities and the dangers of children being run over, said to the Council - “Their blood will be on your heads”

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A GROUP OF CITIZENS

COMMUNITY GARDEN – Kenton Boettcher and his supporters proposed the City set up a community garden. They had a good idea and a decent plan, and showed up at Council and Commission meetings to support their plan.

HONORABLE MENTION –  CEDAR GLEN -The folks who live in this complex got upset when the Parks and Recreation Commission wanted to put a dog park in their area, so they showed up at Council and Commission meetings, got signatures, and made their opinions known.

Thanks to all the responsible citizens who spend their time trying to make this City a better place. This category was the most difficult one and for which there were the most nominations.
