Help Design the new Baker Ranch Parks

Baker Ranch is holding a workshop called “Help Design the Future Parks”. It will be held tonight (Thursday, April 24) from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Grove Recreation Center at 101 Mariposa. If you’re coming up Alton Parkway from Irvine, just go past the site for the new Musick Jail $100,000,000 “maximum security” expansion and make the second right hand turn. (BTW – if you see a wild eyed person hitchhiking just after you pass Trabuco, and he’s wearing a horizontally striped suit,  I suggest you simply drive past). Coming up Bake Parkway, turn left at the first traffic light after Commercecentre Drive. You’ll know you’re approaching the Baker Ranch when you see the over-sized sign advertising the project.

According to the City website, Baker Ranch has 3 large parks and 7 neighborhood parks -

  • A 7.27-acre Baker Ranch Community Park dedicated to the City of Lake Forest.

  • Seven neighborhood parks totaling 12 acres, open to the public.

  • A  8.38-acre Central Linear Park

    • A 5.05-acre Borrego Linear Park.

The developers have asked for your input, so try to make it.

But first you might want to go to the City’s website where there are a large number of photos that look like someone has already done some thinking and planning for what’s going to be in the parks. Check it out here out -

    Hope to see you there.

If the workshop gets boring, you can always pop over to City Hall where the Planning Commission will be meeting to consider the remodeling of the Gateway Center (Rockfield and Lake Forest Drive) and changing the rules for campaign signs.
