Candlelight Vigil Planned for Stabbing Victims

Family and friends will gather Monday evening at Albatros, where the two men were fatally stabbed.

For family and friends of the two Mission Viejo men who died after being stabbed June 11 outside in Lake Forest, it is hard to believe that nearly a month has since passed.

A candlelight vigil to observe the one-month mark will be held 8 p.m. Monday at the site where and five days later.

"We don't want people to forget about the tragedy that's occurred," said Hediah Sabet, a cousin of Saidian's. "We want to gather together and that seems like the appropriate place."

Those who attend are asked to bring a white candle and white flower of their choosing in memory of the two men, Sabet said.

"We want to turn a place where they were viciously taken to a place where we can gather together and share stories [about them]," she said.

Justin Alvin Maseo Tombleson, a 28-year-old from Lake Forest, has been  in connection with the stabbings and is being held on $2 million bail at the Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana.

Tombleson  two days after the incident, saying through his attorney that he .

He has pleaded not guilty and awaits a July 15 pretrial hearing.

Homicide investigators have interviewed more than 60 witnesses to the June 11 altercation, according to Sheriff Sandra Hutchens.
