July 4 Events to Block Some Lake Forest Roads

Closures on Monday begin at 5:30 a.m.

Access to main thoroughfares from a number of Lake Forest streets will be cut off Monday to accommodate the early-morning 5K run/walk and the midmorning Independence Day parade.

The earliest road closures start at 5:30 a.m.; others kick in at 9:45 a.m. All roads blocked off will remain so through 1 p.m., when the parade cleanup concludes.

During these times, no vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit a number of neighborhood streets from Toledo Way, Lake Forest Drive, Serrano Road or Ridge Route Drive.

"No exceptions will be made," according to a letter the city sent to residents on the affected streets. "Please notify everyone in your residence as well as friends and family visiting on that day to make other arrangements during these times."
