Lake Forest Councilman to Speak at Church's 9/11 Service

The Connection Church is holding a Sept. 11 tribute Sunday. Saddleback Church also plans to mark the anniversary.

Ten years after the attacks of Sept. 11, a local church plans to hold a tribute service Sunday evening.

The Connection Church, at 22471 Aspan St., is dedicating a special service to this "major landmark in the history of our country," said the Rev. Jason Silzle.

is lined up as a speaker for the event, which begins at 6 p.m.

"Seaside Memories," a tribute painting by artist Susan Rios, will be on display at the service, and a special video and greeting from active military personnel will be shown.

Not far away, Lake Forest's mega-church also plans a Sunday service to honor the victims of 9/11.

The "Hope and Freedom" service will take place at 's main campus in Lake Forest, its regional campuses and online through its website.
