Still recovering from the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce's birthday party last night? No? Really? Well, here are five briefs either way:

  1. Yesterday marked the start of Lake Forest Patch's increasing efforts to serve moms in Lake Forest: We had a and There'll be more of this to come. (Plus, you're already familiar with our column, no doubt!) We're in the process of assembling a "moms council" to advise and contribute. If you're a mom in Lake Forest, you're already a great candidate to be on the council. You may get some free Starbucks out of the deal! E-mail me if you're interested: spencer.kornhaber@patch.com.
  2. JoshuaCasey Corporate Training and Education, which provides guidance to employers looking to comply with workplace safety regulations, has announced that it's moving its executive offices from Anaheim to Foothill Ranch. Score one for South County.
  3. The local megachurch is looking for money-minded people to be trained to teach non-money-minded people about money. Got it? Saddleback Church is holding Financial Freedom Workshop leadership training on Feb. 10 and Feb. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m.
  4. Lake Forest-based Scorpion Sports has released a new line of motor sports helmet. Read about it here.
  5. This week is National School Counseling Week. If you're at El Toro High School, the daily bulletin suggests you go and thank guidance counselors Mrs. Rashoff and Mrs. Linzey.
