More Rainy Days Ahead, Snow Level to Drop

Two weather systems move into the region.

Two weather systems will move into Orange County this week, bringing up to one-third of an inch of rain starting this afternoon. 

A low-pressure system off the Central California coast will move inland across the Southland tonight, followed by a second, fast-moving, storm over the Gulf of Alaska that will make its way into Southern California Thursday night, the National Weather Service reports.

In Lake Forest, there’s an 80 percent chance of rain today, 100 percent chance tonight, 40 percent chance Thursday, 40 percent chance Friday and a 20 percent chance on Saturday.

Up to one-third of an inch is expected in coastal areas. Nearby mountains could see more rain, as well as snow. Snow levels will lower to 4,500 feet today, and possibly 3,500 feet by Thursday.
