Rain Continues to Soak Orange County

More than an inch of rain will have fallen over much of Orange County by Monday.

The recent rains that have fallen on Orange County since Thursday morning are expected to continue through Monday, as rain gauges begin to fill to the one-inch mark.

The National Weather Service released rainfall totals from Thursday morning through Saturday at 11 a.m:

John Wayne Airport 1.19

Laguna Hills .97

Santa Ana .93

Huntington Beach .85

Lake Forest .85

San Juan Capistrano .83

Laguna Beach .75

Dana Point .54

The National Weather Service said rain was expected to persist for the next 24 to 48 hours as onshore flow increases in ahead of a cold upper-level trough headed down the coast through Monday.

“This was a welcome and beneficial rain for the area including the deserts, where little rain has fallen so far this season,” forecasters reported on the NWS website. “It is not quite over yet either.”
