It's possible that rain will arrive late Friday night, but the brunt of the weather system is predicted to hit Saturday, bringing Lake Forest heavy showers, gusty winds and chilly weather.

As revelers celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the temperature is expected to top out at 58 degrees, according to weather forecasters.

On Sunday, the weather should remain cloudy and cold, with a 60 percent chance of rain and a high of 52 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, the rain is part of a late winter storm sweeping across Southern California this weekend, cooling temperatures and bringing precipitation.

As the work week starts up again, forecasters predict that Monday could catch the tail end of the storm, with a slight chance of showers. But according to the NWS, the storm should be gone entirely by Tuesday, sending temperatures back into the 60s.
