Rescue Dog Cuto Found

The missing canine was discovered under a boat after fleeing a retirement community several days ago.

Cuto, the tan rescue dog that ran off during a midnight stroll earlier this week, was found alive and well under a boat at a mobile home park, searchers said Saturday.

"He was so happy to see us," said Corrie J. Bravo, vice president of I Care Dog Rescue. "Two of our volunteers and one of our dogs found him [after] a man saw him and notified us."

The 2-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix had been missing since Tuesday, after getting spooked during a 12:30 a.m. walk at Freedom Village, the Lake Forest retirement community where it was training to become a therapy dog.

Cuto was found at a mobile-home park behind Freedom Village, no worse for the wear except for a few cuts, Bravo said.
