This Is Sarah—Nice to Meet You!

Today is my first day as Lake Forest Patch editor. If you see me around town, say hi!

Hi, Lake Forest!

I'm the new editor at Lake Forest Patch, the place where you can find the latest news about what's going on in town, talk with your neighbors about the issues you care about and even search through restaurant listings to pick out a spot for dinner tonight.

You might have met Spencer, who launched Lake Forest Patch in December.

Think of me as your new Spencer.

Since December, local residents have stopped by Lake Forest Patch to discuss topics they are passionate about, giving their input on everything from local schools and parks to sports and businesses.

I'll be covering everything from the latest crime reports to City Council meetings—and all the news that fits in between.

Is there something going on in Lake Forest, good or bad, that you don't see being reported on Patch? Let me know!

We're as interested in the community service your high schooler and her friends are doing as we are in your observations of a possible uptick in home-invasion burglaries. That is, Lake Forest Patch aims to be your comprehensive news source, with a wide range of stories about local goings-on.

I grew up in Northern California, but during the four years I spent at the UC San Diego, reporting for the school paper, I familiarized myself with issues important to those of us living in the sunnier half of the state.

Since then, I've worked for two print newspapers with online sites. Seeing the ways that residents interacted with the paper, from commenting on stories to e-mailing news tips, showed me the power of online news.

Now, I'm here to share how important issues, from real estate to immigration, are affecting Lake Forest.

My aim to is be incredibly accessible and responsive; after all, I'm your local reporter, and my job is to make sure Lake Forest Patch is the place where you can get information on topics that interest you.

Do you have something to say about what you think of Lake Forest Patch so far, or just want to say hi? Please do!

You can easily reach me at sarah.decrescenzo@patch.com. You'll also be seeing me around town, scribbling into a notebook or typing on my computer at meetings, as well as taking photos and shooting video of local events.

Don't be shy—I just moved into town, and I can't wait to meet my new neighbors.
