Two storms will bring rain and chilly temperatures to Orange County. Snow will fall in high elevations.

Snow will dust local mountains and rain will fall in coastal areas this week as two cold storms from the Gulf of Alaska roll into Orange County.

The winter-like weather begins Monday night, when lows will drop into the upper 50s and there's a chance of drizzle after 11 p.m.

The first Pacific storm is forecast to arrive early Tuesday morning in northern Orange County, spreading scattered showers and thunderstorms as it moves south and east throughout the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The highest mountaintops will get a dusting of snow Tuesday night above 7,000 feet—far above the elevations traversed by major roads, a Weather Service forecaster said.

After scattered drizzle or light rain on Tuesday, heavy rain and strong winds are likely Wednesday, when the second, more powerful storm arrives. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible in some mountain locations.
