How Bones Talk - Free ARCE-OC Sponsored Event About Ancient Egyptian Heathcare Programs

Compare ancient Egyptian diseases, medicine, and healthcare programs vs. your local HMO's. You might be in for a surprise!

Anne Austin, a Doctoral candidate in the Interdepartmental
Archaeology Program at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA has studied the types of healthcare available to long past inhabitants of Deir el-Medina, and how well, or not, they worked.

Ms. Austin will share her findings
of actual ancient Egyptian administrative records, medical texts and personal letters, along with her physical examinations of patients' state of health at death.
