Annual Parade Has A Bit of Everything

From superheroes to politicians to dinosaurs, there was something for everybody at Lake Forest's Fourth of July Parade.

The annual march down Toledo Way—and subsequent rights at Lake Forest and Serrano—was supposed to be a "Star, Spangled, Salute" as the city celebrated another Fourth of July parade.

And there were plenty of stars and spangles and salutes.

But there was a little bit of everything else, too, among the 102 entries who endured the hot morning.

This year's version of the Independence Day walk featured miniature horses and oversized trucks, rocking bands and marching bands, a giant skateboard and a skateboard-riding guitar player, superheroes and a dinosaur.

Yes, there were politicians as well as Boy Scouts and Little Leaguers, and service organizations. There was even a bit of a protest as Moms Across America took to the street to complain about companies horsing around with their food.

"GMOs have got to go," they chanted.

Check back later for a video that will cover most of the parade in just a few minutes.
