Boy Scouts Hosting Saturday Rummage Sale

Troop 628 is raising funds to ensure that all its members can attend Boy Scout camping trips and other outings.

A Lake Forest Boy Scout troop is hosting a rummage sale Saturday in the parking lot of an area business to raise funds for its annual activities.

From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Troop 628 will sell furniture, exercise equipment, clothing, books and other yard sale items at 15253 Bake Parkway in Irvine.

DaVita, the company at that address, is allowing the Scouts to use its parking lot for the fundraiser.

Like many families, some of those involved with the troop are having financial difficulties, said Cindy Piel, troop recruitment chair.

The fundraiser is meant to ensure that none of the boys will miss out on the troop's activities, such as camping trips and other outings, she said.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the sale will go to the troop.
