Arts Alive Festival Celebrates the 70s

Peace, love, art and music will prevail at the 70s themed, Arts Alive Festival that takes place on Sat., May 2 from Noon to 6 pm and Sun., May 3, 2014 from Noon to 5 pm on the Village Green in front of the Norman P Murray Community & Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, 92691.

The two-day event attracts street artists who chalk paintings on the pavement.  It is an arduous art form that requires artists to sit, kneel, crouch, lay and bend with patience and hours of stamina while transforming the pavement into a paradise of art.

This year's featured artist is Cecilia Linayao, a Fine Arts graduate from Cal State Long Beach.  Known as CeCe, she has participated in some of the biggest street art competitions in the U.S. and has won many of the juried competitions.  Linayao, lives in San Diego and has a studio in the Gaslamp Quarter where she paints in acrylics, oils and pastels.  She is a graphic designer for Cubic Corp.
