Star Gazing at Griffith Observatory- Margot Ferron

Don’t miss this chance to explore the Griffith Observatory, one of the largest and most publically, visited observatories in the world and enjoy brunch at Tam O’Shanter, the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles owned and operated by the same family for 90 years.

Dine where John Wayne, Walt Disney and countless celebrities have enjoyed this charming, pub with a Scottish flare.   Lawrence Frank and Walter Van de Kamp established the restaurant in 1922 and later founded the Lawry’s restaurant chain.

Afterwards, visit The Griffith Observatory that sits on 3,015 acres of land on the south facing slope of Mount Hollywood.  It is 1,034 feet above sea level with spectacular views of the Los Angeles basin, the Pacific Ocean, Hollywood and downtown.

The land and funds were donated to the City of Los Angeles in 1896 by Colonel Griffith J. Griffith with drafted plans for an observatory, exhibit hall and planetarium.  Griffith’s vision was to make astronomy accessible to the public.  View the planets, stars, moon and sun safely with Zeiss, Coelostat and solar telescopes.

Travel in style and comfort on the ride to Los Angeles on this relaxing, luxurious motorcoach with reclining seats, friendly tour guides, handicapped access, restroom on board and a trained professional driver.
