A Drive-By Laser Pointing, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of reports from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department, June 24-28.

A red dot of light caught the eye of a resident living near the intersection of Ridgeline and El Toro roads at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

The resident called and asked sheriff's deputies to check for someone driving a vehicle up and down the street, directing a red laser pointer into residences.

Disturbance. 9:31 a.m. Tuesday. 24000 block of Silverbay Drive.

Prowler. 2:53 a.m. Tuesday. 19400 block of Rue de Valore.

Vandalism in progress. 11:01 p.m. Monday. Malabar Road and Saddleback Ranch Road.

Burglary in progress. 8:00 p.m. Monday. 22800 block of Loumont Drive.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 4:48 a.m. Monday. Lake Vista Drive and Serrano Road.  Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 19-year-old man and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $15,000 bail.

Burglary in progress. 12:53 a.m. Monday. 19700 block of Torres Pointe. A house sitter, charged with caring for a residence during the summer, called police and reported that two teenage boys were climbing into unlocked cars sitting in the driveway of the residence.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 5:10 p.m. Sunday. Normandale Drive and El Toro Road. A caller said two men lying on a blanket near some bushes were touching each other.

Traffic stop. 2:55 a.m. Sunday. Muirlands Boulevard and Lake Forest Drive. A 23-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop, placed in custody at Orange County Jail and released on his own recognizance.

Traffic stop. 2:42 a.m. Saturday. Bunbury Drive and Guinea Street. A 21-year-old woman was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Orange County Jail, where she was cited and released.

Shots heard—no suspect information. 12:32 a.m. Saturday. 24900 block of Calle Vecindad. A caller reported hearing six gunshots in the area behind her backyard.

Disturbance. 9:39 p.m. Friday. 23000 block of Village Drive.  A caller reported that a man who was in front of her home had begun throwing things at the residence.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 5:54 p.m. Friday. 21700 block of Lake Vista Drive. Someone called deputies to report that a man and a woman across the street from the caller's home were engaging in sexual activity, noting that the couple do so in that location regularly.
