Armed Man Threatens to Kill Deputies, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of reports from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department, June 9-14.

An emergency dispatcher overheard a man threaten to stab or shoot deputies during a 911 call made midday Tuesday by a female caller.

During the 911 call, which came from a residence near the 22800 block of Broadleaf, the caller said the man was armed with two knives.

Sheriff's deputies who responded to the call requested non-lethal weapons to protect themselves but ended up clearing the call without further incident.

Disturbance. 8:09 p.m. Monday. 23200 block of Orange Avenue. Deputies responding to a disturbance call arrested a 20-year-old man and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $500 bail.

Warrant arrest. 11:38 a.m. Monday. 26500 block of Normandale Drive. A 21-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, placed in custody at Central Men’s Jail and released when he posted bail. 

Warrant arrest. 10:39 a.m. Monday. 21000 block of Cantebury Lane. A 45-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, placed in custody at Orange County Jail and released when he posted bail.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 3:11 a.m. Monday. Rockfield Boulevard and El Toro Road. Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 21-year-old man and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail. He was released under his own recognizance.

Reckless driving. 6:35 p.m. Sunday. El Toro Road and Muirlands Boulevard.

Disturbance. 2:39 p.m. Sunday. 20900 block of Skylark Drive.

Disturbance—music or party. 1:15 a.m. Sunday. 24300 block of Muirlands Boulevard.

Traffic stop. 10:55 p.m. Saturday. Trabuco Road and Manalastas Drive. A 26-year-old woman was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Orange County Jail, where she was cited and released.

Traffic stop. 9:46 p.m. Saturday. 25400 block of Jeronimo Road. A 22-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Disturbance. 7:12 p.m. Saturday. Saddleback Parkway and Portola Parkway.

Assault report. 12:17 p.m. Saturday. 24900 block of Heartwood Circle.

Traffic stop. 11:13 p.m. Friday. Lake Forest Drive and Rockfield Boulevard. A 33-year-old woman was arrested during a traffic stop, placed in custody at Orange County Jail and released when she posted bail.

Burglary in progress. 8:07 p.m. Friday. 22800 block of Maza Court.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 4:05 p.m. Friday. Towne Centre Drive and Alton Parkway.
