Boating Bandit Poaches Eggs From Geese Nests

Man and boy carry on despite pleas of teachers watching from a local school in Lake Forest.

A Lake Forest montessori school teacher was mortified last week when she saw a man taking the eggs of geese on the lake.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a teacher at Montessori On The Lake called 9-1-1 on April 29 when she saw suspicious activity on the neighboring Community Association Lake.

She described seeing a man and boy, about 8 years old, in a boat taking eggs from the nests of ducks and/or geese.

Teachers at the school yelled at the alleged poachers to not take the eggs, but the pleas fell on deaf ears. One of the teachers filmed the incident and thought it could be used to direct sheriff deputies to the man's house.

The man was described as being about 45 years old, the boy about 8. They had fishing poles, wore baseball hats and the boy had a life vest.
