Sheriff's Blotter: Car Collisions, A Blue Man, Rowdy Minors

A selection of reports pulled from the Lake Forest police dispatch log this weekend.

At 10:13 p.m. Sunday, police arrested a 24-year-old man near the intersection of Lake Forest Drive and Trabuco Road. According to the report, the man had a warrant out for his arrest and was an unlicensed driver. He was taken into custody with bail set at $15,000.

At 5:33 p.m. Sunday, a caller told police about a possibly drunken driver exiting a pickup truck near the intersection of Vintage Woods Road and Lake Forest Drive. A middle-aged man at a gas station stumbled out of a silver Nissan Desert Runner, the caller reported.

At 6:08 a.m. Sunday, police arrested a 24-year-old-man near the intersection of El Toro and Trabuco roads. According the report, the driver swerved off the road, hitting a tree. Smoke began wafting from the vehicle after the collision, which knocked down the tree, blocking a local walking trail. The man was detained by police and later released.

At 1 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance on the 26700 block of Normandale Drive. The caller said a man punched a woman in the face during an apartment party.

At 9:19 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance on the 23500 block of El Toro Road. Four men reportedly attacked another man in front of the caller's office. According to the report, the victim did not fully cooperate with police, saying only that the subjects had taken off toward some Raymond Way apartments.

At 5:57 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the intersection of Pizarro and Vista Fusco. People attending a loud party were throwing trash over a fence and into the street, the caller reported. 

At 3:46 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious person on the 21800 block of Twinford Drive. A man wearing a bright blue Morphsuit was reportedly standing in the middle of Regal Way. According to the caller, he also knocked on the door of a nearby residence and peered inside when the resident opened the door. The blue-suited visitor quickly took off when the resident mentioned calling the authorities.

At 10:45 a.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious person on the first block of Icon. The caller said a black Toyota pickup truck backed into the bushes near the Southern California Edison facility parking lot, causing concern due to recent copper thefts from the facility.

At 5:19 p.m. Friday, a caller reported vandalism taking place near the 22800 block of Leo Lane. According to the caller, six minors near a pool were throwing chairs and trash around, while smoking marijuana and egging each other on to poop in the pool.

At 10:03 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a traffic accident near the intersection of El Toro Road and Muirlands Boulevard. The driver appeared to have hydroplaned across a pool of water and crashed into a street divider. The vehicle was stuck, but there were no injuries reported.
