Chiropractor Allegedly Sexually Assaults Patient

Dennis Scott Durbin is arrested at his Irvine office on suspicion of sexual battery.

Investigators suspect there may be additional alleged victims of a 65-year-old chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting a patient in his Irvine office.

Dennis Scott Durbin was arrested Tuesday afternoon in his office and booked on suspicion of sexual battery and penetration with a foreign object, Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen said.

The chiropractor allegedly sexually assaulted a 28-year-old Orange County woman this July during a massage. The alleged victim told investigators she received treatment for neck pain from the chiropractor a year ago, and when she returned this year for additional treatment, Durbin sexually assaulted her.

Durbin was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to jail records.

Durbin's office is shared by another chiropractor, but there's no other connection between the two professionals, Engen said. They use the office on alternating days, she added.
