Cops Blotter: Police Arrest Bike Rider For Producing False Citizenship Documents

The following is a selection of calls from Lake Forest to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Feb. 11 to Feb. 15.

Police stopped a 49-year-old man on a bike and arrested him on suspicion of presenting counterfeit documentation, said Sgt. Angel Andrade of Lake Forest Police Services.

The man had been riding the bike on the wrong side of the road near the intersection Cherry Avenue and Jeronimo Road around 3:14 p.m. Monday, and when stopped by police, produced a document to show he was a resident alien of the United States, Andrade said.

The officer on the scene said he thought the document was fake and asked for another document, and the man then showed him an Social Security Card, which also appeared suspicious, Andrade said. The man then admitted that he had bought fake documents in Santa Ana, Andrade said.
