Caller Says 6-Year-Old Girl Missing School Due to Mother's Binge Drinking

A selection of recent reports from the Orange County Sheriff's Department police blotter in Lake Forest.

At 3:57 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the El Toro and Trabuco roads intersection. The informant reported that an allegedly drunken woman was driving at a high rate of speed in a red Suzuki in the Stater Bros. parking lot. According to the report, the driver proceeded to step out of her vehicle and attempted to fight the informant.

At 11:34 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to investigate a dead body in the first block of Pointe Drive. The report stated that employees of the Candlewood Suites found a non-responsive guest in one of the rooms. Firefighters were dispatched; the death appeared to be natural.

At 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to conduct a welfare check in the 23100 block of Los Alisos Boulevard. The informant said a 6-year-old girl who had not been to school for three days because her mother had been binge drinking with a friend.

At 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 26300 block of Town Center Drive. The informant reportedly heard people in the Sonterra Apartment complex screaming and breaking glass bottles.

At 8:29 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a police officer in the 23200 block of Orange Avenue. Deputies reportedly used a Taser to subdue the man, who was later transported to Saddleback Hospital for treatment. The man has since been released from custody.

At 2:46 a.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 26-year-old man from allegedly prowling in the 24000 block of Sutton Drive. According to a caller, the man reportedly attempted to break into a girl's bedroom through a window. The man was taken into custody.

At 5:32 p.m. Sunday, deputies arrested a 21-year-old woman near the El Toro Road and Raymond way intersection. The report stated the woman attacked her ex-boyfriend while they were driving and then jumped out of the moving vehicle. According to the report, firefighters were dispatched in case of injury. The woman was taken into custody but not prosecuted.

At 8:42 a.m. Saturday, deputies arrested a 36-year-old man near the El Toro Road and Jeronimo Road intersection. The man was arrested for allegedly driving without a valid driver's license, and reportedly having a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and there was no posted bail amount.

At 10:15 p.m. Friday, deputies arrested a 34-year-old man in the 22200 block of Vista Verde Drive. The man was arrested on account of having a warrant out for his arrest and was taken into custody with no posted bail amount.
