Reports of Reckless Driving, Stolen Bikes

A selection of recent reports from the Orange County sheriff's police blotter in Lake Forest.

At 4:18 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to investigate a person down in the 25500 block of Second Street. According to a report, a man sleeping next to a bicycle was partially on the sidewalk and grass. 

At 1:13 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Overlake Drive and Islamare Lane. The report said there had been an ongoing issue with students walking along the train tracks and throwing rocks onto Overlake.

At 11:20 a.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 25-year-old man in the 24100 block of Larkwood Lane. He had an outstanding warrant and was suspected of being under the influence of drugs. The man was taken into custody; bail was set at $15,000.

At 1:23 a.m. Monday, deputies assisted firefighters in the 23200 block of Orange Avenue. The report stated that an 18-year-old man was having a seizure that may have been attributed to smoking “spice.” The man was heard screaming, and firefighters were responding.

At 11:17 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the El Toro Road and Raymond Way intersection. The report said that possible gang members were driving a blue truck and cutting off drivers. The subjects were seen yelling gang names and vulgarities.

At 6:31 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called for a follow-up report at a local bike shop. The report said that the caller had found stolen bicycles worth $10,000 on craigslist and that deputies needed to investigate.

At 4:48 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 23200 block of Orange Avenue. The report stated that eight male minors were seen drinking alcohol near a golf course. Deputies reportedly made contact with six subjects.

At 8:36 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the first block of Torin, saying a group of minors was seen atop a shed at Foothill Ranch Elementary and smoking illegal drugs. There was no report of an arrest.

At 6:02 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 26500 block of Town Center Drive. The report stated that a man was seen stealing several bottles of alcohol from Walmart. The man left the area in small silver sedan. 

At 3:36 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrested a 41-year-old man near El Toro Road and Rockfield Boulevard. The man had reportedly injured himself while attempting to break into a car parked at Fuddruckers. The man was taken into custody; bail was set at $100,000.
