Resident Tries to Run Down Neighbor With Car, Caller Says

A selection of recent reports from the Orange County sheriff's police blotter in Lake Forest.

At 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 23000 block of El Toro Road. According to the report, a man was seen drinking beer behind a church.

At 1:08 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 26500 block of Town Center Drive. The report stated that a transient had gotten into a heated verbal argument with a Petsmart employee after being asked not to smoke in the restroom.

At 8:47 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Portola Parkway and Bake Parkway intersection. The informant reportedly spotted a man in his 50s urinating on the sidewalk

At 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reportedly heard a gunshot in the first block of Vitale Lane. The informant stated a single gun shot was heard from the Whiting Regional Park area. Four people were seen driving away in a small dark sedan. 

At 10:19 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Arrowwood and Larkwood intersection. The caller reportedly saw minors pushing each other off a 12-foot slide. According to the report, the informant felt the children were endangering themselves potentially being a liability to the city.

At 10:09 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspected drunken driver near the El Toro Road and Trabuco Road intersection. The report stated that a gold vehicle occupied by two very young women was swerving. The vehicle had an Angels baseball sticker and was allegedly speeding as it made a right onto Trabuco from Cherry.

At 5:13 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a weapon being brandished near the Town Center and Bake Parkway intersection. According to the informant, one in a group of at least six male minors had pulled out a knife in the Towne Centre Plaza. Four were detained by police, according to the report. 

At 10:16 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported petty theft in the 26500 block of Town Center Drive. According to the report, three men were detained for allegedly stealing from Walmart.

At 10:01 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported petty theft in the 22300 block of El Toro Road. According to the informant, a young man grabbed two cases of beer from a liquor store and ran out with them. The man was wearing a baseball cap and multicolored shorts. 

At 9:12 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported suspicious activity in the 23400 block of Packer Place. According to the report, the informant saw two men allegedly smoking marijuana in the laundry room of the Lake Forest Villas. 

At 6:35 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported an assault with a deadly weapon in the 24900 block of Muirlands Boulevard. According to the informant, a neighbor allegedly charged at him in a vehicle and attempted to back over him.

At 10:47 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a firework violation in the 19400 block of Saddleback Ranch Road. According to the report, several minors were seen setting off fireworks in the school yard of Portola Elementary.
