Body, found on Christmas Eve, is so decomposed investigators can't tell his race or age.

Orange County sheriff's investigators asked Thursday for the public's help in identifying a man whose body was found near Crystal Cove in Newport Beach on Christmas Eve.

The body was so badly decomposed that investigators cannot tell the man's race or age. It was found about a mile off the Newport Beach coast by a commercial fisherman, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

The unidentified man was about 5-foot-9 and weighed about 165 pounds, with dark-colored hair, and was wearing dark-colored, nylon Champion brand sweatpants with zippered legs, size 11, black Asics running shoes and a black Timex watch with a plastic band, Hallock said.
