A Lake Forest man, apparently a fan of the Lone Ranger, took the law into his own hands Tuesday and learned the value of having a Tonto. Or a posse.
According to a report to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the 34-year-old gentleman left his keys in his Honda Civic in front of his house. When he went outside, there were three individuals inside the car, said Lt. Tim Rainwater.
The man chased them off.
The men in the car didn't take anything, but the resident was not content to call for help. Instead, he got in the car, found the intruders a couple of blocks away and confronted them.
Whereupon one of them allegedly assaulted the man, Rainwater said, albeit a "minor assault." A person who witnessed the confrontation near the corner of Whisler and Orange did call for police help. Sheriff deputies arrived and arrested four individuals ages 17-20.
