Lake Forest Man ID'd in Deadly Motorcycle Crash

The incident took place Wednesday morning at Alton Parkway and Irvine Boulevard.

A 56-year-old motorcyclist who died after the bike he was riding collided with a Lexus SUV on an Irvine street was identified Thursday by the Orange County coroner.

David Richmond of Lake Forest was killed after his motorcycle slammed into the SUV on Wednesday, about 10:50 a.m., at Alton Parkway and Irvine Boulevard, according to Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen.

Someone tried to revive Richmond before paramedics arrived, but he died at the scene, according to Engen.

The crash was the second fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Wednesday. In Anaheim, at about 10:10 a.m., a biker was killed in a crash involving a big rig on the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway.
