A Lake Forest man pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday to charges of possession of drugs and an unloaded gun.
Adam Hoang Vu, 27, was arrested June 8 at about 1:30 p.m. in Portola Hills after police allegedly found heroin, methemphetamine, drug paraphenalia, an unloaded .22-caliber handgun and 355 rounds of ammunition in his car.
Authorities accuse Vu of hiding 2 grams of heroin and 1/3 gram of methamphetamine in an Altoids tin tucked into a small black bag tied to his shorts' drawstring.
Deputies allege that Vu also had a glass meth pipe and about $2,900 cash when they searched him.
At the time of his arrest, Vu was taken into custody on $20,000 bail.
His next court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
