Lake Forest Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crash

Peter H. Reinert is thrown from his motorcycle after veering off the Ortega Highway and striking a boulder.

A 57-year-old Lake Forest man suffered severe injuries Friday when he crashed his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the Ortega Highway, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Peter H. Reinert was headed west on the Ortega Highway at about 11:15 a.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and it left the road, struck a boulder and ejected him, CHP officer Nathan Baer said.

Reinert was taken to an area hospital with injuries to his head, neck, left leg and left ankle. He was listed in critical condition, Baer said.
