  • Karen Reynolds telling the operator several times that she and her husband were still tied up as they made the call.
  • A lot of concern expressed for Reynolds' daughter and housekeeper, who were on the property with the couple. Karen Reynolds did not know whether her daughter and housekeeper encountered Dorner. "I don't know for sure if he's got them or not," she tells the operator midway through. Later, she asks: "I don't suppose you could try her cell phone to see if she's OK?"
  • Karen Reynolds asks multiple times if the operator was still on the line, concerned she might have lost contact.
  • Officers responding to the call seemed to have trouble finding the Reynoldses, who were on a property with multiple units. At one point, the operator the couple to yell to get police attention.
  • Karen Reynolds said Dorner had pillowcases over their heads and made them avoid looking at him. She said he left "15 to 30 minutes" before they called 911.
  • At one point Karen Reynolds' physical discomfort from being tied up becomes apparent in her voice. She talks about being in pain and wanting to get untied.

The Reynoldses are among the people who consider themselves eligible for reward money totaling close to $1 million in the Dorner manhunt.

"Notwithstanding these exemptions and without otherwise waiving any privileges, the Department hereby elects to release the audio recording of the 911 call received from the victims of the home invasion robbery committed by Christopher Dorner. ...

"Redactions have been made to the audio to keep confidential the residential addresses of these victims."

The manhunt for Dorner, which ended Feb. 12 at a burned-out cabin south of Big Bear, was one of the largest in the history of California and the Western United States.

Hundreds of officers from local, state and federal agencies were involved in the search for Dorner, who is believed responsible for four killings in 10 days: a former LAPD captain's daughter and her fiancé in Irvine on Feb. 3, Riverside police Officer Michael Crain on Feb. 7, and San Bernardino County sheriff's Detective Jeremiah MacKay on Feb. 12.
