Man Arrested on Suspicion of Holding Knife to Wife's Throat

The call came in after midnight Wednesday.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he threatened his wife and punctured her throat with a knife, authorities say.

Deputies responded to a call around 1:33 a.m. Wednesday on the 2300 block of El Caballo, said Sgt. Angel Andrade of Lake Forest Police Services.

Jesus Eugenio Gonzales had gotten into an argument over finances with his wife, his wife said. He produced a knife and held it to his own throat, and then to hers, causing a small puncture, according to Andrade. The wife then grabbed the knife by the blade, causing superficial wounds to her hand, Andrade said.
