Man Breaks-In His New Truck—Literally

A man's vehicle may be Ford tough, but that will only carry him so far.

By Martin Henderson

Dirty Harry once said a man has to know his limitations.

He should also know the limitations of his vehicle, especially before going off-road.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a man called to report that he went off-roading in his brand new truck. And, in the process of taking his brand new truck for a spin, he rolled it down a cliff.

Neither the informant nor his passenger were injured, fortunately.

The same could not be said of the brand new truck, which was stuck on the side of a mountain 1.7 miles east of Trabuco Creek. The brand new used truck leaked some diesel fuel when it came to a rest.

The call was made Saturday, 10:27 p.m., from the 20700 block of Trabuco Oaks Road.

This report was culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report and its actual facts may differ from the original blotter item. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
