Meet your neighbors—and your neighborhood cops—at the 29th annual National Night Out.
The event, taking place this year on Aug. 7 in Foothill Ranch Community Park, is a four-hour community get-together hosted by Lake Forest Police Services.
The department, part of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, is hosting the community program from 4 to 8 p.m. to promote neighborhood spirit and partnerships between residents and local deputies.
Free food and entertainment are on tap for the get-together at the 19422 Rue De Valore park.
The first National Night Out, designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, was introduced in early 1984, according to Police Services.
