Men Armed With Bats and Bottles, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of calls from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department from July 26 to July 29.

A Lake Forest resident phoned police Wednesday night, concerned about eight men described as looking like they might be in a gang. The caller said the group had congregated near the intersection of Saguaro Street and Raton Drive, wielding bottles and bats, looking like they were arming themselves for a fight.

The fight never came to fruition, according to Lt. Jim England with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. And no one was detained or arrested as a result of the report.

The call came in about 9:27 p.m. Wednesday.
