New Chief of Police Services Introduced to City

New chief has a history of working in Lake Forest.

By Martin Henderson

There's a new sheriff in town. Well, there will be on Friday.

The new chief of police services was introduced to city leaders on Tuesday near the conclusion of the City Council meeting of Lake Forest.

During city manager Robert Dunek's closing statement, he introduced Lt. Brad Valentine as the choice to replace retiring Lt. Pat Higa. Valentine begins work in Lake Forest on Friday.

Valentine has been working out of Santa Ana in Professional Standards Division, where he is involved in hiring new deputies. He learned he had won the job on Monday.

From 2000-07, Valentine served as a deputy in Lake Forest. He was hired by the Orange County Sheriff's Department in 1993.
