Man Jumps to Death Off 241 Toll Road
Incident involving 41-year-old Foothill Ranch employee occurs near the Upper Oso Reservoir.

A Rancho Santa Margarita man jumped to his death Wednesday morning off the California 241 toll road in Mission Viejo.
Alexander Antonau, 41, was seen by a witness leaping from the center of the span, according to a deputy with the California Highway Patrol. The height of the bridge at that location is 93 feet.
A LinkedIn profile of Antonau identified him as a software architect at iBASEt in Foothill Ranch.

A lane of traffic was blocked off and a black vehicle was parked on the shoulder.
The bridge is at the end of the Los Alisos on-ramp to the northbound 241, which is parallel to the dam of the Upper Oso Reservoir, just a few hundred yards from the Rancho Santa Margarita border.

The apparent suicide was called in to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 9:16 a.m. after a witness watched the victim go over the east side of the bridge closest to the reservoir.
